Guerrilla Marketing Explained (Part 1)

Guerrilla Marketing Explained (Part 1)

Lately we have been receiving a lot of inquiries into the idea of using guerrilla marketing. The only problem is that the average person doesn’t understand what it really it is. Business owners see Guerrilla Marketing as this amazing set of predefined tools that will work with any business. Hopefully this will help explain what Guerrilla Marketing truly is:

What is Guerrilla marketing?
Guerrilla marketing is any promotion that’s unconventional, unexpected and usually evocative of a unique, memorable reaction from or interaction with the viewer.

Guerrilla Marketing is a non-traditional

  1. Instead of believing that single marketing weapons such as advertising work, guerrillas know that only marketing combinations work.
  2. Instead of investing money in the marketing process, you invest time, energy and imagination.
  3. Instead of ignoring customers once they’ve purchased, you have a fervent devotion to customer follow-up.

Guerrilla Marketing is not right for your business if you can’t take a risk.

Guerrilla Marketing by nature is risky and bold. If you are in an industry that frowns on being different (i.e insurance, finance, legal) then chances are Guerrilla Marketing is not ideal for you.

A guerrilla marketing campaign can be tailored to almost any small business

With that being said, there’s a way for basically any business or brand to do some form of guerrilla marketing, “it’s just a question of risk tolerance . It requires a brand to step outside its comfort zone and do something they’ve never done before

But if edgy is your thing, a guerrilla campaign is right up your alley.

Next time we will go over famous examples and what not to do with a Guerrilla Marketing campaign.

Three Best Ways To Use Location-Based Services

Three Best Ways To Use Location-Based Services

Here are three best ways to use location-based services to boost your business.

1. Offer incentives to your customers. Whether you want it or not, people will find you online. But you can amplify the effect on networks like Foursquare and Yelp by promising free or discounted products to people who visit. Don’t just stop there, take it a step further by offering a freebie to those who takes the extra effort besides checking in, like buying a product or leaving a tip for other users.

2. Reward Loyalty. Many bars and restaurants reward their Foursquare “mayor.” Others offer a gift to customers when they complete a certain number of check-ins. These promotions are the evolution of traditional loyalty programs and reward volume visitors not necessarily the customers that spend the most money. So choose your reward with care.

3. Host events to build buzz and long-term relationships. Some cool ideas that have been going around are “tours.” Multi-venue businesses are giving away rewards for people who visit every location. Think of McDonald’s monopoly game for businesses.
